ASFA Elections Are Back!

by JG

This post will be updated soon, for now I just wanted to let all of you ASFA students know that the election was being held. Concordia University students who are either majoring or minoring in an Arts & Sciences program are eligible to vote, and the by-election will be held on October 12th and 13th. For more information, check out the awesome article from CJLO, and stay tuned for more updates.

Below are three students I have chosen to endorse: Paul Jerajian for VP External Affairs & Sustainability, Katie Brioux for VP Communications, and Yazzy Zahar for Independent Councilor. I know these candidates well, and know that, if elected, they’ll serve the Arts & Science community perfectly.

Almost That Time…

by JG

If you know me personally, are friends with me on Facebook, follow me on Twitter, or if you’ve read this post, then you’ve heard me talk about Bonnaroo.

For those that may not know, Bonnaroo is a four-day Music and Arts festival in Manchester, Tennessee. Due to its (relatively) remote location, its the type of festival where you camp out near enough to the festival site. I will be one of those camping outdoors rather than enjoying the luxury of an RV or of a hotel.

This year’s line-up is one of the many things that has me very excited about going to Bonnaroo. The entire line-up can be found here, but some artists I’m really looking forward to seeing are; Eminem, Lil Wayne, Girl Talk, Donald Glover, Arcade Fire, The Strokes, and many, many more.

Allow Me to Re-Introduce Myself

by JG

MY NAME IS HOV! H-to-the-O-V…

My bad. When I thought of the title for this post, I was probably subliminally thinking of the opening  lyrics to this Jay-Z song. That song and the post title will forever be linked in my mind I guess.

Anyways, this blog post is kind of me re-introducing myself, so the title is quite fitting. Now let me get to the  actual introduction, (taken from the “About Me” page).

I’m a 21-year-old student at Concordia University. My academic interests include Political Science and Business, specifically Marketing and International Business. I’m the Online Editor elect (and a former Sports Editor) at The Concordian, a student paper at my school. I play organized Lacrosse and Soccer, as well as a large number of pickup games with friends and acquaintances. I’m very interested in politics, sports, and pop culture. When I’m not in school or biking (see here for more), I like to browse the web, read, listen to music, watch television, and play video games. So basically, I have the interests of a typical 21-year-old male.

I also like to write and express my opinions online, which is why I’ve started this blog. I’ll be covering a wide variety of topics, including, but not limited to, my previously stated interests. I hope that you enjoy reading what I have to say, and I hope you’ll interact with me and other readers in the comment thread of a particularly interesting post. Thanks!
